Burnt toast could soon be a thing of the past thanks to the world's first transparent toaster.

The new concept glass toaster, which lets you see your bread as it browns, is from product developer Inventables.

The idea is based on transparent heating glass technology and the idea is that the glass heats up enough to toast the bread.

It means people can keep their eye on their breakfast and eject the slice at the moment it turns the perfect colour.

Is this the best thing since sliced bread? <whistle>

Is it me, or does that look like Apple designed it?

The new Apple iToast: iToast, therefore I am.

Hang on, it heats the glass to do the toast. Sorry, it'll never go into production. There'll be fears of several hundred million Americans burning themselves on the glass while trying to get at the toast and suing everyone in sight!

No, but it does come with a wireless link to stream your favourite movies and tv shows onto the built in LCD display.... The downside of this is that you'll no longer be able to see your toast <think>
