Oh for heaven's sake.

I'm sick to death of people trying to run our lives. Why can't these people find something better to do with their time?

It's probably all bull invented at the request of filament bulb manufacturers. It smacks of all the people from oil companies who buy up electric car technology and lock it away.

Or that bent lot (lead by Sharples?) which stitched up the railways after the Beeching report because they were all on the boards of oil, tyre and road materials companies.... look at all the roads that were railways... lol

They are also useless in a infra red system.

For some reason infra red outdoor lights cannot cope with the useless flicker start of the bulb and some like mine shorted within a minute.
Energy saving my ar$e, it cost me £79.99 for a new ornamental infra red light that now has a normal bulb in that don't ruin the circuits

You don't put energy saving lightbulbs in anything other than ordinary light fittings, it says so on the packet. No timers, dimmer switches etc, because the inbuilt starter/ballast for the flourescent element will toast anything that doesn't just turn straight on or off....
