Norbs, I expected it to happen, but I hoped that it wouldn't. I agree with PF, it is savage and senseless. It is one more example of a world returning to it's tribal roots, a world of no tolerance whatsoever.

This is why we need to get our troops out of Iraq.

No way of stopping these people <no>

After this savage and brutal assault not only on these people, but on the freedom of the Pakistani people as a whole, I confidently expect that the United States will shortly be announcing plans to invade Pakistan and remove this bloody, militaristic government from power.

Of course, that would involve justice. So I guess it'll never happen.

Yeah, Pakistan's a key ally in the 'war on terror', like Saudi Arabia. Never mind the brutal rulership of both countries, eh? <doh>

Well, Iraq had a brutal leadership, and I bet more Iraqis have died in the unrest since the US and Allies invaded, sorry, arrived, than Saddam ever killed.

Still, Iraq has lots of oil.... <whistle>

The US has always "befriended" the madmen of the world in selfish and misguided attempts to "control" events. It seldom seems to work. Luckily we can always count on the UK to dive right into the chaos with us and share the blame.

It is for this reason, that I do not like the present President of the United States... Or in fact the present Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, or his predecessor.

What a load of P!

This is not to say that I do not like Americans of course. I have yet to Personally discover an Unfriendly American. Curious, yes. Barmy, yes. Unfriendly, no.

german forces are supposed to stay another decade in afghanistan at least though.

i for once am happy that the US and UK have took a part in WW2 just because without i would not have grown up in one of the english speaking zones over here and most prolly would not be interested in english language at all.
It is a nice feeling that the same folks who fought the cruelty and terror here first, then helped to build up the infrastructure again and then defended the federal republic at the iron curtain too. The french did too even.
This makes this same folks friendly to me whatsoever. If it is unmodern to think something like this - I don't care.

Pakistan aint a democratic country which is known. just like the so called democratic republic of kongo is a regime. But to be upset now is something I don't really understand since the Bhutto returned from exile by herself and took up opposition again. Surely it was good what she did but it was obvious too that something had to happen what has happened.

I see that the finger is already being pointed at al-Qaeda for this attack on the basis that "suicide bombings are a hallmark of al-Qaeda's modus operandi." I for one have never heard of an al-Qaeda suicide bombing that was a targeted assassination attempt on a specific individual. Their style is much more random attacks with the intent of causing as much death and destruction as possible. I personally believe that the Pakistani government had a hand in this assassination.

The last i had heard was that Al Qaeda had said it had nothing to do with it, and seeing as how they don't usually shy away from stating their "successes" it makes you wonder.......
