Valentino Rossi is unsure how long he will continue riding in MotoGP, the former world champion said on Thursday.

"At the moment I really don't know how long I will stay in MotoGP," the Italian told the German magazine Auto Bild Motorsport. "A lot depends on how competitive we (Yamaha) are next year."

But Rossi, who last week hinted at a future move to Ducati, made it clear he would end his career with Yamaha.

Is Rossi becoming disillusioned with the sport now that the younger riders are starting to win on a regular basis, similar to Mika Haikkinen in F1? Has he lost his hunger?

Looking at some of his rides the past two seasons, I doubt he's lost his hunger. It maybe has more to do with his being unsure about having a competitive, let alone dominant bike to ride. Taken at face value, he's saying if he does not have a decent bike, he'll consider continuing, thats all.
Come to think of it, ask any rider and he's likely to say the same thing as Rossi <rolleyes>

A couple of wins will soon put this right I think.
