Moved to the Run Off Area, but can I just say that this thread and its various incarnations across several boards is my favourite of all time!

So my contributions:

"McLaren blame Hamilton for crash"

"Ferrari punished for breach of rules"

"Hamilton sideburns more popular than Mansell moustache"

"Bernie Ecclestone: It's a wig"

"Niki Lauda praises Alonso"

FERRARI GO BLUE!

This one actually did happen.

Towards the end of 1964 Ferrari were in a major dispute with the Italian National Automobile Club. As a consequence for the US GP, the penultimate round of the championship Ferrari decided not to run their cars in traditional Italian red. Instead they choose to run in the American racing colours of blue and white.

Ferrari also ran the blue and white livery in the final race in Mexico where Ferrari driver John Surtees clinched the title in a last race decider.

That is an interesting question that pops up from time to time in F1 quizzes. What was unusual about the Ferrari in which John Surtees won the world title in 1964?

Erm, I thought the cars were still red, but had a white and blue stripe on them, proclaiming NART entry?

Was the Ferrari the last front engined car to win a championship?

I forgot to add...

Smart... Yes

Maybach... No

for the record...

I do not dislike Mercedes/Audi/Lexus (etc) in fact it because they make such great motors that I sometimes feel I need to be defensive for my BMW's...

the real point is when BMW lead their class others learn from it and raise their game and I hope that applies vice versa...
