Some very sad news from Japan. Norick Abe was not the best rider there ever was but on his day he could win against the best. He made an astounding debut at the Japanese GP in 1994. He won a truly amazing Brazilian GP in 1999 that I remember very well.

My condolences go out to the Abe family, a very sad loss.

Very sad news.
As a rider, Abe was very unpredictable, therefore great fun to watch.

Nori isn't dead!! 'Nori' is Noriyuki Haga. Abe was 'Norick'... you had me doubly worried there!

I've always been convinced riding bikes os more dangerous than racing them. That's with about 80000 miles under my chinstrap, give or take.

I remember Rossi being asked what bike he has for the road and his reply was bikes are too dangerous for the road.

I bet that went down well at Honda as he was with them at the time <yikes>
