Autosport.com - Rossi had first test on 2008 Yamaha

Valentino Rossi said he formed a positive first impression of next year's Yamaha after testing the prototype 2008 M1 at Motegi yesterday.

The Italian tried two versions of the chassis, fitted with Yamaha's current engine.

"We used the same engine of yesterday in order to be able to better judge any improvement," Rossi explained.

"One chassis was stiffer than the other and with the stiffer one I felt some vibration, but with the intermediate one my feeling was really very good.

Surely Rossi couldn't go another year without a title after dominating so much between 2001 and 2005

He might be getting used to not being champion now.
