Hi everyone, Welcome to the official thread for the first round of the third season of A1 Grand Prix, the World Cup of Motorsports. Feel free to discuss the developments of the race weekend in this thread, and let's hope for an entertaining weekend to make up for the borefest that is bound to transpire in Japan on Sunday.... This thread will also be a live discussion of the feature race on Sunday (a live discussion of the sprint race would be somewhat pointless as it's not broadcast live where I am). |

Is it broadcast live anywhere? Links would be helpful as I may be able to help out on live discussions |

It may be possible to stream the sprint race live from the website, although you might need to be clever with proxies to do it.... |

Grandslammer found this link here and I posted a link to The Sun Online who claim to be offering coverage of some description. The official site www.a1gp.com supposedly offers coverage only to those in the host country, but as Andy said, any one who is adept with proxies *may* be able to get around that. I won't be able to test any of those links this weekend for coverage as we have visitors for the weekend, so I'd be keen to hear from anyone who has success with them, as I won't get TV coverage until I'm back in NZ at the end of the year. |

Disappointing performance from Malaysia so far after showing strong races last season with Alex Yoong |

Great to see France at the top Also interesting to see the gap between the front and the back which shows how poor the quality is in the A1 field. At least there a few decent drivers in the field this year. |

It was a wet session, that may have had a bearing on the results <unsure> |

If we get another wet/dry race like last year's Zandvoort feature race, that would have been fantastic! Netherlands and the USA both gambled on silly tyre strategies (the US stayed on dry tyres for the entire race despite the driving rain), but unfortunately were just beaten by Germany at the end. |

If I could just put my mod hat on for a second:![]() Link Could I ask that members wishing to discuss the results of the sprint race before it is broadcast in the UK (as that is where most of our members are - it is shown just before the main race on Sky Sports) please do so in a different thread? I am more than happy to merge the topics after the fact, but it would be nice if people could continue to use this thread in the build-up to the feature race without fear of spoiling the sprint race for themselves. Many thanks
