On Wednesday, Oct. 3rd, IMSA will drop the green flag and on-track action will begin four days of sports car racing at Road Atlanta. The Braselton, Georgia USA circuit will host the American LeMans Series’ penultimate race of this season, Le Petit LeMans, a 1000 mile endurance event. The circuit will also feature the Star Mazda Series (a rotary powered open wheel event), the IMSA Lites, IMSA GT Cup (911GT3s), and the Speed World Challenge for touring cars. A four day pass to the event with paddock access is $75.00 USD. That’s an excellent value! The action will start at 8:30 am and run until 5:30 pm Wed, Thurs. and Friday. Saturday’s enduro will start at 11:15 am and run until 9:15 pm. All times are US CST. The entry list includes Allan McNish, David Brabham, Stefan Johansson, Dario Franchitti, Jan Magnusson, Andy Wallace, Tony Kannan, Max Papis, Didier Theys, Brian Herta, Mika Salo, Adrian Fernandez, Ron Fellows, Dindo Capello, Johnny Mowlem, and 63 other drivers. Keep an eye on this thread for further updates as we get closer to start of the racing. |

For those who can make it, going to a ALMS race weekend(+) is a wonderful experience. full paddock access, access to the team/drivers at times, usually 5-7 different races to watch.... It's a ton of fun - I just wish I wasn't in NY that weekend I'd have planned a 'work' trip to my Georgia office and skipped out for the races.

4 days with paddock transfer for... £37.50, for such a high profile series that's extraordinary value! Anyway, it's a bit far for me, so I'll be shouting at the timing screen. C'mon you Astons! |

I went to the ALMS events at Silverstone and Donington a few years back. Awesome grids and real entertainment. JJ Lehto is the BMW V12 LMR was something else! |

This year's ALMS race includes: Acura, Audi, Corvette, Dodge Viper, Ferrari, Maserati, Mazda, Panoz, Porsche, as well as Creation/Judd, Lola/AER, and Zytek/Zytek. These cars will score points in one of four classes: LMP 1, LMP 2, GT 1, GT 2, as well as compete for overall positions in the race. I've been to events in New Orleans, Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca, Portland, and LeMans, and it was very open and friendly. I was invited in to see what was going on, and I made contacts that explain things to me time and again. Good stuff. |

Hopefully, this will be live on Motors TV here in England. If anyone is thinking of starting a live race chat, count me in! |

That's a very impressive entry list. Any series would be proud to have them all racing at the same event! As for the ticket price - that's great value for 4 days of racing, especially at a great track for action such as Road Atlanta |

I've included the Thursday Road Atlanta schedule as an example just to illustrate that we have very good events in US that might justify a flyover. This is the Thursday schedule for the ALMS event at Road Atlanta.
The circuit is alive, there are vendors, sponsors, officials, Marshals, teams, competitors, and the fans. It should be a great week. |
