Well, all I know is that Sky Sports sport coverage is far superior to BBC’s sport coverage

That's true, Stradlin, but only because the Beeb can't afford to have even one dedicated sports channel, let alone four with a "sports news" channel and a couple of HD channels tacked on! I like the fact that there is a decent buildup to events on Sky Sports, but it's not practical for the BBC to do that.

If it wasn't for the fact that I am about to be afflicted with a bout of Irishness, I'd go to the Brands Hatch event myself at the end of the season - I might still be able to go depending on term dates.

Oh and Paul - do you get RTE in Northern Ireland? I read on the A1GP website that they broadcast the races.

A1GP is great. I was at the Brands Hatch meeting earlier this year, and it was so much fun. I'm probably going to go again next season!

Also, don't forget to play the Fantasy A1GP Game! </shameless plug>

I may go to Brands for the A1. but it's a long way away. Both temporally and physically.

Same for me - it depends on when I'm home, but home for me is still a long way from Kent!

I do indeed Andy but with me living in Northern Ireland Sky have stepped in and blocked their coverage in the North of sporting events that they have the rights for, such as A1GP and Premiership football on a Saturday. You can only get A1GP on RTE up north if you receive it through an analogue signal, but with nearly everyone now having either Sky or NTL/Virgin, the analogue aerials are hard to find these days.

That's a bit unfair for those of you who don't have Sky Sports!

I seem to recall in the first couple of F1 races in 2002, you couldn't watch ITV's F1 coverage through Sky Digital because they were broadcasting it over on F1 Digital +. That idea was soon shelved though, probably because nobody was watching F1 Digital + anyway!

Will A1GP become more popular though if it moved onto terrestrial TV? It is popular on Sky, but something tells me it wouldn't attract as big an audience as F1 on terrestrial TV. It would probably have as big an audience as MotoGP or BTCC does on terrestrial, which is a big audience but disappointing in a way
