Sebastien Bourdais put on a dominant display to thrash his opposition at Zolder this afternoon and score his sixth win of the 2007 season.

The Frenchman led from pole position, and though there some untimely yellow flags, a crucial pass of Bruno Junqueira while battling over fourth behind three cars running on a different strategy won him the race.

Anyone see this race? Sounds like it was a bit of a one-horse affair - as it so often is with Bourdais - but I'd be interested to hear any comments from those who actually watched it.

I watched the race, it was nice to see Zolder once again, it looked like a real Formula 1 track of old, and not one of the shitty, sterile and characterless tracks we are stuck with these days.

An interesting point for fans of the British drivers was that Dan Clarke was D/Q’ed from taking part in this race because of a practice session pile up he caused on Friday. He was on probation because of the incident where he crashed into the back of Justin Wilson during a full course yellow and behind the pace car!

The camera shot of the incident in practice was a very long shot, and almost impossible to tell what happened, but obviously the marshalls deemed it to be Dans fault and banned him.

I feel that we will not see Dan Clarke in the 2008 championship. When he drives well, he looks good, but his speed comes with a lack of understanding which results in many collisions.

The race was an easy one for Bordais, the Newman Haas is the class of the field. Even a sub-standard son of Rahal can get good results from the car. Whoever gets Seabass’s drive next year, will probably win the championship – unless they are crap!

Wilson had a reasonable race, but the race pace of the car meant he could not hold off the faster car whenever they were behind. We did see a fantastic overtaking manouvre from Justin,, which netted him two places, but he then lost them by running wide on the next corner!

Not a great race, I watched three races on Sunday – F1, IRL and this, and they were all dull. I would have been better off playing a round of golf!

This week, the European double-header goes to Assen in Holland.

Its a shame that the champcar organisers didn't go to Spa, they would have had a great race there.

I enjoyed seeing Zolder again...if they show they race sometime this week try and watch it......the track looked great......it brought back memories.

The race itself was not great

It would be nice if CC tried Brands next year, I wish F1 used it for the GP too!

To be honest I had never heard of Zolder until I saw champcar was racing there last weekend so I will have a look at it if it appears on TV this week.

I agree about Brands though, that would be a great track to see F1 and Champcar on.

Although if Champcar wants to advertise itself in Europe it probably needs to go to higher profile tracks like Monza, Spa, Silverstone and maybe even Monaco etc.

I think the only way CC would get on the Monaco track is if they ran on a GP weekend.

As most Champ Car races are on twist, bumpy street circuits, I am sure they would feel right at home at Monte Carlo. Though I suspect Bernie the poison dwarf would have major ego clashes with Kevin Kalkhoven, making the likelyhood of a F1/CC weekend very slim to no chance at all.

There is no way Bernie would share the Monaco GP with Kalkhoven. Monaco is HIS cash cow, and that's the way it will stay. As you say, the Monte Carlo circuit can only be used on and around the GP weekend, and there's no way Bernie would allow Champ Car onto his turf. So, sadly, Champ Car at Monaco is just a pipe dream.

If the Singapore, Valencia and Abu Dhabi street circuits are successful, though, Champ Car could conceivably stage races there in the future (although not when Bernie is looking). And there's always the Durban circuit that the A1GP circus has used these past two years (but PLEASE not the Beijing one!)

There was going to be a CC race in China this year, but Bernie blocked it due to the date being so close to the F1 race there!

I did not see the race but I'm glad to see the CC guys out and about. Does anyone have any crowd estimates for the race? Also, was it on TV live, or taped delayed in Europe?

The race was shown live on ESPN CLASSIC at 8am (eastern) Sunday morning

I am pretty sure its the same time and same channel for the CC in Holland (Assen) this weekend.

I dont know the crowd numbers, but the grandstands looked full.
