Autosport.com - Spyker in no rush to finalise 2008 line-up

Spyker boss Colin Kolles insists that his team are in no rush to sort out their 2008 driver line-up, after rubbishing speculation that they have signed GP2 racer Roldan Rodriguez for next year.

The team are expected to retain Adrian Sutil, following some impressive performances from the German this season, but their second seat is believed to be up for grabs.

With several drivers having been linked with the team after the departure of Christijan Albers - including Christian Klien, Narain Karthikeyan and Rodriguez - Spyker have no shortage of candidates for 2008.

But Kolles has dismissed reports that Rodriguez has already been signed, and made it clear that the team are happy to wait before deciding on their driver plans.

Is the uncertainty over the team's future also a decisive factor in the delay over naming the drivers?

Presumably Driller doesn't want to name any drivers in case they demand a drive in return for their sponsorship money, when no drive is actually forthcoming - when Paul Stoddart sold Minardi to Red Bull, he had to conduct a couple of hastily-arranged test sessions at the end of the season so that he could see out his obligations to the sponsors of his drivers (that's why Katherine Legge got a test).
