Which in your opinion is the best ever season In f1 or the best since you started watching?

According to the F1 user survey 1986 wins by a long distance, most people chose this one under this question. This was the championship where there were 3 title contenders in the final race and Mansell was cruelly denied the championship. Unfortunately I wasn't alive to see that championship.

Since I have been watching I would say the best seasons were 99, 2000 and 2003.

I think you should rephrase that, makes you sound like you have risen from the dead, though I suspect what you really mean is that you hadn't been born then.

But how cool would it be if he had been raised from the dead....(we need an undead smiley)

Since I have been watching F1, I'd say 2000 or 03.

On some counts. It didn't do 1989 many favours....!!

Since I have been watching, I'd go with 1999. The title nobody wanted....

I loved 2003 (as i never saw 1999) so many drivers were in with a chance. I think with 6 rounds to go 13 drivers had a chance, whereas the year before the championship was over by that point. It was somewhat ruined for me the fact DC couldnt qualify but it was brilliant to watch Kimi consistently outperform his machinery as well as the incredible form of Ralf in the middle of the season. Drive of the year surely in the Hungaroring coming from last to 4th.

Watching some reviews of older seasons showed me that F1 was miles better in the past.

1983 was probably the best one I saw. There were personalities, a tight title race and with downforce at a low in the wake of the ground effects ban the cars slid up everywhere. 1986 was pretty decent too though.

I voted for 1986 in the survey. A three way last race decider. For a large part of the season it was a four way battle as Senna was also in the hunt until dropping away in the final few races. Also the pendulum swung several times between the four drivers.

2003 is the only year since that came close in my opinion. It was very similar in that it was a three way battle and the momentum kept switching between Ferrari, Williams and McLaren. I give 1986 the egde as there was a three way last race decider.

Of the seasons I have watched, 1999, 2000 and 2003 were the better ones. I'm not concerned about tight title races as long as the races are interesting. Or driver personalities. It is the on-track action I am more bothered about. Raikkonen is actually IMO one of the most interesting 'characters' at the moment.
