As expected it seems to be very likely that De La Rosa will be joining Prodrive as Prodrive are expected to be using a Mclaren chassis next year.

As a team in your first year it is always going to be very difficult to attract good drivers so I think De La Rosa will be pretty good for them, lots of experience, very good technically and in the midfield fight he will be useful.

A much better option then bringing on an unknown pay driver.

There is probably a good chance that Paffett will be the other driver I guess although maybe someone like Liuzzi could also be in the frame.

If PDLR didn't have mountains of sponsorship money behind him, do you really think he would have a chance of returning to F1.

Could have called it "Pope strongly linked to Catholic church" <whistle>

I agree with you that PDLR will be an asset to prodrive. <thumbsup>

Are McLaren likely to want to give up such an experienced test driver though. I think Paffett is more likely to moved over to Prodrive - particularly as he pulled out of the Honda test deal at the last minute.

He would be a good choice for prodrive and a logical one as well, he has reasonable pace is technically very gifted and brings a wealth of mclaren experience(which should be useful is they run next years mclaren).
