Round 8 of the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series sees the V8s make one of their last trips to Oran Park (2008 or 2009 will be the last). It is also the last sprint round before the 2 enduros.

The points table finally reflects Garth Tander’s dominance of the series. Of the 20 individual races, Tander has won half of them. At Queensland he also became the first driver in 2007 to win 2 rounds.

Team Kiwi Racing make their return to the series after a 3 round lay off. Young Kiwi driver Shane Van Gisbergen will become the 200th driver in the V8 Supercar Series (well according to V8SA anyway, so after 1997).

The regular 3 times should be on the top of the time sheets, but hopefully there will be a few others challenge including FPR, SBR, and one would hope Jason Bright has rediscovered pace since the last round.

Fabian Coultahrd will be back in the 2nd Paul Morris Commodore, and Paul Dumbrell should be back for SCAR though the entry list still has Paul Weel in the car.
