Remember that Mclaren bought out Raikkonen's contract, although I doubt that was worth that much. And they are wealthy, probably the wealthiest team in the championship now. Whoever they want, providing he doesn't drive for Ferrari, Renault or BMW (Kubica I mean), would be in their grasp. Heidfeld would be good choice as a second driver but Ron has baulked him once, who's to say he wouldn't do the same this time?

Alonso will probably stay after all of this discussion <roflmao>

If Honda make their contracts like their wind tunnels then the drive is Button's.

Seriously though, I think Webber would make a great foil for Hamilton. I think Alonso's problem is he is 'still' young, possibly still a little immature and prone to mood swings when he doesn't get his way.

Without wishing to stereo type a nation either he does come from a culture where machismo is king so it's possible the situation is getting the better of his ego.

Though not essentially a fan of Alonso I do think he's a great driver and a deserved champion.

I agree with almost all of your comment6s.
Regarding JB IMO he should invoke any clauses in his contract to be free of Honda.
They have failed him dismally and although I am no great fan of JB, I do think he deserves a far better drive than Honda can give him.
It would be very, very difficult for him if he did go to McClaren because rookie or not LH is a formidable team mate for anyone to take on let alone JB who will then face the other who ursurped his position as the nations hero.

If he was to equal or beat Hamilton though...in terms of national press he is all but forgotten in any case.

I disagree. Why would McLaren want Button? He has done little to warrant a drive at a top team, in my opinion. There are much better options out there.

Was thinking the same. If JB could get out of his contract. Where would he go?

It was just a joke regarding Honda's construction skills, not to suggest that Mclaren really want JB.

Oh hang on a sec. . . . . . How dare you criticise my darling and suggest he's not good enough . . . . . Ron Dennis is not fit to clean JBs racing shoes let a lone employ him.

Does that feel better?

Kubica would give Hamilton a run for his money and with Heidfeld saying how he'd love to have Alonso as a team mate, then it'd be a straight swap. Rosberg crashes too much, otherwise he'd be a Contender..
