Very bizarre, I don't believe there was a need for that punishment at all, dare I mention the Ferrari conspiracy theories  <sarcasm>

The thing is that we can't have a proper discussion on that anymore. Every time a decision is made that somehow favours Ferrari, and we point out how suspicious it looks, Ferrari fans just go "Yawn.....here we go again" and never actually respond to any points. Surely even a Ferrari fan can see that some of the decisions taken in the last couple of years - the mass dampers, Alonso's ludicrous penalties at Hungary and Monza last year, and now the McLaren-holding-Alonso-in-the-pit-lane-so-Lewis-Hamilton-can't-get-in-another-fast-lapgate issue - are highly suspicious to the fans and, it seems, even other competitors.

To be honest it does get quite old with having Ferrari attacked for everything that happens that is controversial in F1.

No one will argue that the mass damper ruling benefited Ferrari, but I think the FIA did that for the benefit of the title fight rather than just for Ferrari. Also Alonso's penalty at Monza was total crap (look where the race was).

I think calling Alonso's penalty for Hungary 06 a conspiracy to help Ferrari is a crock of shit. We all saw Alonso brake check Doornbos and push him wide, and there was no dispute he passed under the yellow. Shumi then passed under the red, and got the same penalty as Alonso. So I don't see what the problem is there.

The Michelin 03 tire saga really was no different than the Ferrari floor from this year, except Ferrari didn't use Michelin IP to launch their protest. Again the decision benefited Ferrari, but I don't see how anyone can say it was the wrong decision.

The return of tire changes benefited Ferrari, but that was voted on by the teams, not an FIA dictated decision.

There have been decisions that have not benefited Ferrari, such as the floor decision this year, but that was no different than the tire issue of 03, so nothing to complain about there.

I'm not really sure how Ferrari fits in to the McLaren quali issues in Hungary, and that is exactly why you hear Ferrari fans yawning about any mention of FIAt conspiracies. It gets old. Ferrari somehow are thrown into the fray for an issue they were completely uninvolved in.

Personally I find nothing "suspicious" about McLaren's penalty from Hungary. It was draconian, and over bearing, but then again so is the FIA. People might say it was the stewards way of punishing McLaren for spy gate. But the FIA can do that on their own.

So yes we can have a proper discussion, but you will have to remember that the same "conspiracies" will most likely be met with the same yawning response in the absence on any evidence.
