Yes but in the first 3 races Kubica had problems in every race whereas Heidfeld had none. Thats why there is a gap in the standings. Last year Kubica was impressive, he got that podium in Monza with a flat spotted tyre. In the other races you speak of such as Brazil the car just wasnt quick enough for points, you seem to forget last season it was only the 6th quickest car (toyota was quicker) so to score high points regularly was difficult, also you cant forget that Heidfeld slammed into the side of Liuzzi whereas Kubica kept it clean and trouble free. In Hungary he made several mistakes but so would any rookie if their first race was in the rain, he outqualified Heidfeld in his first quali session. In Japan he was much quicker than Heidfeld but was behind because he went off early on but almost passed him down the straight at one point and in China he was actually lying in 4th until he was told to pit for dries far to early which cost him strong points.

I think Kubica even in his first season was as quick if not quicker than Heidfeld, if a bit more prone to mistakes. I thought these points would be fairly obvious if you watched carefully.

I'm sorry but don't even try to claim that Kubica had a better race than Heidfeld at Hungary, Kubica was just embarassing himself that day. I don't recall Winklehock having any problems on his debut in a wet race.

I've already said he did outperform Heidfeld at Monza. Also, qualifying = 0pts.

The driver makes their own choice for tyres. He makes the wrong one, that's his mistake.

2006 (final 6 races):

Heidfeld - 10 pts
Kubica - 6pts

2007 (minus Indy):

Heidfeld - 42 pts
Kubica - 28pts

I too would've thought it was fairly obvious who the better performing driver was...

Sometimes you have to look past results and take into account mechanical problems, errors for each driver etc.. Every event at the end of last season Kubica was as quick if not quicker than Heidfeld its just Nick lucked into a podium in Hungary while Kubica made some mistakes and was DSQ'd through no fault of his own.

Points this season are irrelivent as Kubica has had most of the bad luck similar to what happened with DC and Kimi at mclaren in 02 there was no doubt who was the quicker driver yet DC beat him because he retired much less and some superb drives of course <thumbsup> , i think he is the quicker driver and in a year or so would easily dispose of Heidfeld. Dont be surprised if Kubica beats Heidfeld for the rest of the season, afterall if it wasnt for his problem at Hungary last week it would have been him on the podium not Heidfeld.
