Will Renault return to the front in 2008?

Ah yes. What I meant is that I think Renault need a team leader, like they had with Alonso, but if they aren't looking for someone like that, then Piquet Jnr is the better option because Fisi isn't good enough. He wouldn't do any worse than Fisi has done recently, I am quite sure.

He might crash. <LOL>

He would obey red lights at the pitlane exit though, most likely :)

I don't think Renault will be at the top any time soon, unless Hekki or Nelson Jr. turn out to be really good drivers.

I hope Renault do find their way back to the top, simply because we have at the moment more deserving drivers than there are top teams. A four-way scrap between Renault, McLaren, BMW and Ferrari would be fantastic to behold .... as long as Renault come out on top, of course.

I think it would be a disaster if they went with Piquet and Kovalainen, to be fair to Fisi he has done a much better job this year and they need an experianced head to set the car up, help with development etc.

I agree with Rams on the fact that Heikki and Piquet jnr wouldn't be a great line up for Renault for a whole range of reasons.

They really need to be pushing for a better driver to alongside either Heikki or Piquet Jnr.

I think the wisest thing for Renault to do is to re-sign Fisi for a year and then go for drivers like Kimi, Massa, Hamilton and Alonso for 2009 when they could well be available. If Renault have shown to have improved in 2008 then big names will be more tempted to make the switch.

This is the same reason why I think Red Bull have kept DC and Honda with Rubens, so they have a chance to attack bigger names for 2009 when I think we will get a very wild driver market, for 2008 it will be pretty quiet unless Alonso leaves mclaren(or retires with my theory in mind) which will spark of a game of musical F1 seats.
