Renault much faster this time out. I imagine their true pace is something like an average of their FP1 and FP2 pace. |

Those times are meaningless because for the last 40 minutes or so, no-one improved their times probably because of the track conditions. |

Funny you should mention it, because he was removed from the gravel trap by a tractor, but this time he was told to kill the engine and the car was taken behind the barriers |

Apparently Renault are cautious about reading too much into their pace this afternoon: Link I think they are right. As Chris said, the track conditions meant that the times in the second half of the session were probably not representative of true pace. I think we can expect Renault to be a bit further into the midfield by this time tomorrow. |

The Renault situation looks similar to what happened them last time out. They really struggled in practice, improved a bit in qualifying and had a strong race pace. I'm expecting the same this time round after looking at their practice pace |

True that Fridays tests are not entirely what will happened on Saturdays or even Sundays. Some are trying to shone off and running on fume to please their sponsors. Others never seems to get the pace early on then get to the top when needed. But we have to admit that teams like McLaren & Ferrari have always given a good indication of their real pace from day one. Therefore, McLaren ahead of Ferrari on Sunday, BMW close third followed by Renault. Those that havn't done the prediction leagues as yet, do not use my tip above. Tha. There is rumour circulating Hami's dad has bought a tractor with a crane and that he was involved once again to his son assistance. |
