Autosport.com - Brawn denies link with rival teams Former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn has rejected suggestions that he has considered joining any other team than the Italian squad after he ends his sabbatical next year. Brawn left Ferrari at the end of 2006 after ten years as the team's technical director, and he has recently begun discussions about a possible return to the team in the future. Former Ferrari engineer Nigel Stepney, sacked by the team this year amid accusations of sabotage and espionage, suggested earlier this week that Brawn was part of a group of people interested in leaving Ferrari for another team. I think Ross' heart in genuinely with Ferrari and he wouldn't want to work for another team. But having said that, if he went out and joined another team he could prove that he has the magic touch and is not just part of a good team like he was at Benetton and Ferrari |

When Ross left for his gardening leave, he doubtless committed himself on paper to Ferrari. They simply would not have let him go otherwise. If Brawn returns to F1, it will be to Ferrari - but that is a big if. Remember Mika Hakkinen said he would return to F1 after one year, and here we are in 2007 and the closest he's been is getting into a sauna with Alonso and Hamilton. And his test in the winter. |
