Vettel to race for Toro Rosso in 2008 German Sebastian Vettel will race for Scuderia Toro Rosso team in 2008, it was announced on Thursday in Hungary. Vettel has joined Toro Rosso for the remainder of the season after BMW Sauber released him from his contract as the team's third and reserve driver earlier this week. The German driver is replacing American Scott Speed at the team, and Toro Rosso has confirmed Vettel will also race for them in 2008. The team did not name their second driver, although Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais has been linked with the seat. Vettel made his Grand Prix debut at the United States Grand Prix earlier this year, scoring a point for BMW. Who will get the second seat then? I think there's no denying that Liuzzi is out of a job, but will Bourdais take the seat, or will Red Bull recall Doornbos from ChampCar and put him in the car? |

Honestly I'd say Doornboss is doing a better job than Seabass, of course me opinions means squat to STR, so probably Seabass. |

While I'd like to see how Bourdais would get on I think Toro Rosso's best bet would be Doornbos, as he has some experience in F1. He is capable enough, although I personally doubt either Vettel or Doornbos will prove to be much quicker than Liuzzi or Speed. |

Before they have tested him in a race drive? They never continue to amaze me. That's Liuzzi out for next season, they may as well just sack him now as well. |

I think its quite obvious he will be a good driver in years to come but i think this is a bad move especially is they sign Bourdais as well they will have another rookie lineup and in my opinon they wont do that much better than Speed and Liuzzi. |

They have seen what he has done at BMW Sauber and in a full race in INDY... not many get such a chance like that to show what their potential is... After Hamilton was given a full race seat on less... that worked out fine

Vettel wasn't overly impressive at Indy. Finished lower than he started, 4 tenths off Heidfeld's pace. I don't think he's ready for a full time F1 drive. He is only 19, remember. |
