Well he does have a point. Some of the drivers will never be good enough to win races, no matter what car they are in. Yamamoto, Davidson, Sato, Speed, Liuzzi to name a few.

I think people like Villeneuve and Barrichello have shown that a lot of drivers can win races in the right car.

Barrichello...well, Schumacher must have won 5 times as many at least while he was teammates with Barrichello.

Villeneuve and Barrichello are not bad drivers, they just need the best car to win races. Yamamoto i doubt would get anywhere near winning in a good car.

Ron Dennis has fired a broadside at the F1 field by claiming that half of the rivers are "useless".

Indeed they are: can't take a bit of rain without flooding!

I think he might be referring to the one that took out his "Precious" at the last race.

Oh I don't know...Ron looked pretty happy after Alonso had won...

Wasn't Ron the bloke who employed Michael Andretti?

I'd really like to think Ron was misquoted. He should know as well as anyone the difference between a win and 9th place can be as little as 0.3 seconds per lap (or there about), which really isn't that much over a lap that is 1min 23.235 seconds.

I'm guessing he was probably referring to car/driver combinations. So what he says would be a little true. Spyker, STR, and Honda have pretty much been useless this year. That is not to say they shouldn't be in F1. If we started eliminating team based on being useless we would have had 1 team races in 04, 02, 92, 89, and 88 (and probably a few others)

I guess, he was very proactive in his comment. He meant after Alonso departure he will have 50% useless driver.  <whistle>

Cheeky!

Lets not forget who has made the more errors this season. <whistle>

Andy, you misread me. Infact I was thinking of Hami as No1 after Alonso departure, and since there is no much choice left and Hami would want to have his way they will have to have a second rate driver...Barrichello?

It's not the first time he has blasted drivers further down the field. He famously was critical of Enrique Bernoldi at Monaco in 2001 when he wouldn't jump out of the way for DC while fighting for position - holding him up for around 40 laps. Ron said he would end his F1 career, but at the end of the day it was McLaren's fault DC was that far down the field due to their faulty launch control on the formation lap

I remember that, they really threw their toys out the pram that day. DC couldn't overtake the mid-fielder and Mclaren were almost at the point of wanting blue flags for a driver holding position <yikes>
