I watched the replay of this race yesterday while waiting for the ChampCar to start. Unfortunate memories of Austria 2002 abound, with Alexandre Premat and Timo Scheider both giving up places to drivers from the works Audi team.

Race report: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/61206

Full race results (courtesy of Autosprout link above):
Pos Driver Car Time
1. Martin Tomczyk Audi 1h02:31.668
2. Alexandre Premat Audi + 0.297
3. Mattias Ekstrom Audi + 2.036
4. Timo Scheider Audi + 2.413
5. Bruno Spengler Mercedes + 2.994
6. Christian Abt Audi + 4.969
7. Mika Hakkinen Mercedes + 5.748
8. A.Margaritis Mercedes + 6.929
9. Gary Paffett Mercedes + 7.882
10. M.Rockenfeller Audi + 8.914
11. Jamie Green Mercedes + 10.536
12. Bernd Schneider Mercedes + 11.805
13. M.Winkelhock Audi + 13.279
14. Paul Di Resta Mercedes + 13.758
15. Mathias Lauda Mercedes + 29.626
16. Lucas Luhr Audi + 41.986
17. Susie Stoddart Mercedes + 1 lap
18. Tom Kristensen Audi + 5 laps

I've missed most of the DTM this year <doh>

Has it been any good?

It's been pretty good actually - we've had a variety of different people out the front each time out. The problem is that we get tainted results like yesterday's, because the manufacturers all want to see their works cars win, and the one-year-old and two-year-old machinery really isn't that far behind the up-to-date stuff.

Yeah, that happened a bit last year too.

Last year was the 1st time I'd watched it asn I thought it was great. Just not got to see it this year :(

This was voluntary, apparently, so the comparison between this and Austria 2002 shouldn't really be made.

You are correct: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/61222

Still, the fact that Premat was thinking about the team's championship rather than his maiden DTM win suggests that there is something amiss with the philosophy of these DTM manufacturers.

Audi and Mercedes agreed that the older cars should have a chance to win, but then they seemingly enforce team orders to stop it.

This is sadly the way it is in DTM at the moment. Only another one, and ideally two new manufacturers could force Audi and Mercedes to stop messing around in this way.
