Scuderia Toro Rosso Ferrari Vitantonio Liuzzi (ITA) Scott Speed (USA) Toro Rosso Wins: 0 Podiums: 0 Poles: 0 Points: 0 TPL Rating: 5 out of 10 Having courted controversy in 2006 over using the 2005 Red Bull chassis, Toro Rosso went one better in 2007 and have decided to use the same chassis as the senior Red Bull team. It has led to widespread criticism and even a threat over a court order, but on-track it hasn't made a difference. They seem closer to the senior Red Bull team than last season during qualifying, but their pace seems to drop off come race day, and so far they have failed to trouble the points. Vitantonio Liuzzi has stll to fulfill the promise that he showed prior to F1. He won the last F3000 title in 2004, and was even touted as being the next Italian Ferrari driver at some point in the future. But at Toro Rosso he has failed to shine, although he had impressive qualifying sessions at both Spain and Monaco. But 5 retirements in 9 races, including ealry exits at Monaco and France mean that his F1 future is being questioned Scott Speed is a bit of an unknown souce in F1. Some people say he has earned his seat on merit, some say it is due to Red Bull's American driver programme, and some say it's down to Bernie wanting an American driver in F1 to boost it's image in the USA. But so far Speed has failed to turn into a top-line driver. He has 6 retirements so far, though mostly down to the car, and doesn't look like he will score the rest of the season. Do you agree with this? Rate the team and have your say |

Come on! No need to be diplomatic here, rate them how you REALLY think they are doing! I gave a 3, because they have no points and their drivers are making a lot of errors, and they fail to finish more often than they finish. |

I gave them a 4. I don't really like Toro Rosso much since they add nothing to the paddock, but even looking at it from a neutral point of view they are little more than simply something that occupies Gerhard Berger's spare time and do not look like bringing a whole lot of anything to the party. On the whole Speed has probably been the more impressive of their two drivers, but both are so impossible to judge due to never having raced in equal equipment with a proven driver that all you can really say about Speed is just that, ie he is slightly better than Liuzzi. I don't think any major team would give either a chance, but also the winner of that duel deserves at least a shot against a proven driver in the STR next year. If Vettel got a race seat with them next year it would tell us how good Speed and Liuzzi are. To sum up-Bring back Minardi, they could probably do better than STR are doing at the moment. |

Well, no they wouldn't, but at least they would probably finish more races! |
