you just hate this don'tcha John! Maybe they'll think of new handicaps such as blinfolds for the previous race winner, fastest cars only allowed to race on 3 wheels, if you do 3 consecutive fastest laps you have to do the 4th race in reverse

The rules apply to everyone so that is not my beef... but I fail to see why a manufacturer would go the extra metre to build the best car they can as they can win races and even championships with an average car... This season the max. weight penalties are less I understand so BMW real time performance is reflected in the standings but I still do not like it... |

It's the way the WTCC is. There is only one credible rival to BMW and that's a factory Alfa Romeo, they aren't playing so to keep SEAT and Chevy sweet, BMW have to be slowed down. Certainly it would be pure if BMW won every race, but you can bet the series would collapse inside a season. The real mystery is why BMW won't race their direct competitors Audi and Mercedes in the DTM, they are hardly fighting for sales with Chevrolet/Daewoo and SEAT in the market. |

Personally... I think BMW see DTM as a characture of a road car... while they see WTCC as being more relevant to the cars they sell, they use road engines and standard gearboxes etc... DTM is about as relevant to road cars as Nascar's... IMO. I accept that WTCC run the system they do... I just don't like it... I love F1 and would hate for such a system to be introduced... but I wonder if the FIA are happy for teams to be left to design the best they can in F1 without penalties... why not also in WTCC. |

because F1 is watched by millions, and WTCC by only thousands? The system sucks, but its the best way to keep it competative, as BM would walk it otherwise. They still will anyway mind. |
