The 599 GTB is Ferrari's latest car and I LOVE IT. Made of aluminium and with a 5999cc V12 engine it can do 0-62 in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 205mph. It looks stunning and is only £180,000. Ok, I know that £180,000 is a lot but in the grand scheme of things....

I have my heart set on one of these now and everything I do in life from now on will be geared towards buying one.

check it out (litterally if you have enough dough!) at:

Its funny but i did not like the look of the car when i first saw it but now i think it looks great.

The performance is amazing as it looks more like a GT car than a F40 but the performance is the same.

If i sell my house and use the money <think>

Hmmmm.... you could spend about £10K on a Skyline, and another £5K on bits and have a car that quick..... Question is, what would you do with the other £165K?

The National Geographic Channel did a special on the Ferrari factory, specifically the 599 assembly. The quality control of Ferrari is quite simply out of this world, they give no room for error and accept none. They could probably cut the cost of their cars in half if they would allow a few lemons slip through.

There were a few of these at Silverstone. Including one as the safety car. Very, very nice.

According to a road test I read a little while ago, the F50 was absolute magic; just looked wrong so was dismissed. Lacked the drama of the F40 I suppose...

I'd have a 599 over just about any other car on the planet. The perfect supercar - useable, savagely quick, beautiful, benign, tactile. They look so amazing in the flesh, you just want to touch them! Can't wait for the Enzo replacement though, that's going to be a winner!

The enzo replacement will be out in 2010 so not too long to wait. there is an article on it on Topgear magazine this month. Apparently it is going to use energy recovery systems to improve performance and efficiency (atleast according to the article). May be that could be the F1/road relevancy that Mad Max keeps going on about.
