It is a cool car and plate for a guy in his teens or early twenties, but just sad on a 40 something, receded hairline bloke! It is like a plea of “Please don’t let me get old!”

Kind of like the 45 year old that buys a MG midget becuase they are going through a mid-life crisis.

yup

Personally I don't see the problem... We all have a short time on the planet...

why not buy an MG if that is what you want... or a flash Mustang and plate....

as long as we respect others and don't break any laws... do it.... why be afraid of what others think...

after all you are a long time dead.... now where is that Morgan brochure again... <thumbsup>

Nothing wrong with owning a nice car, just some people look daft in them and shouldn't be surprised if they get odd looks from people . Just like if you were driving anything other than a BMW ;) .

His Mustang sounds really nice, a real throaty V8. I like the Mustang GT, just not in Yellow and black stripes (not for me anyway). I toyed with getting the GT convertible last year, but bought the Honda instead – I figured the Kansas winters would do a lot of damage to a cloth top! Had I know I was moving to a sunnier place, I probably would have went for it.

And I agree with what you say John, but this guy looks a little sad driving his testosterone machine, it’s just the way it is!

Blue with white stripes, possibly red with white, is the only way to go....

<thumbsup>

But, you need to gain a few BHP and lost about twenty six tons before the car will go like it sounds.....

The comment was really aimed at those who might be put off because of how they might be percieved...

I agree we all see people and think OMG what do they look like....

but that should'nt stop them... I mean middle aged man with a bottle tan in a flash Lambo or such.... I might think he looks silly.... but he is enjoying a rather cool car... good on him

But most public roads in most countries mean you cannot do the speed the sounds suggests so you might as well look cool an low speed cruising down the Kings Road... or Rodeo Drive etc

John, we both know that the likelihood of a hotrod owner sticking to the limit is about as high as the Saint and I agreeing on something (ok, we have twice this week....), so while your point is valid on the law side of things, the real world says otherwise....!

I've had sports cars my entire life. Now that I'm 51, should I go out and buy a minivan or a F 150 Pick Up truck so that The Saint wouldn't notice and criticise me? I think not.

The people that were cool when they were 20 are probably still cool when they're old. The people who were square when they were 20 are probably still square when they are old. Once an asshole always an asshole.

Who gives a toss what the other people think of you if you're happy with what you've got?

Not just the saint noticing your a sad old f__k, about 99% of the population too!

;0)

When I was two I used to piss the bed, so maybe now that I am older I should not worry about people thinking it odd that I piss the bed and save the walk to the bathroom at 3am?

There is nothing wrong with a little dignity as you get older.

Saint, that comment is insulting and totally out of line. I don't think I deserve it.

I only replied to your post in kind. Fire on fire and all that good stuff.

I mention a guy across the road looking stupid and you get all defensive because of it.

But once and asshole always an asshole.
