What do you chaps think of it? I had a test drive a month or so ago. It's quantifiably better than the previous model in just about every way but I actually prefer the old car. The new car is more refined and more tractable but has lost the raw focus which makes me want to enjoy every inch of every road every day in my 53-plate car. Has anyone else driven one? Do you agree or disagree? I think I'm gonna pile the miles on my current car before looking for a Lotus Elise next year before life gets too serious and I have to grow up! |

Is that the Civic that was on Top Gear in series 8, and the one that Team Dynamics use in the BTCC? I think that looks horrific. |

As with most things......... the styling is down to personal preference... but the performance is unquestioned and for the money it makes a compelling choice... I am not keen on the external styling but the one I drove a while ago looked like a space ship inside (the dash is all electronic) and the power was fantastic. I read that Honda have produce an even more radical Type R-R...but twice the price... why

I think the external styling is a bit odd, in particular the front looks as though it was designed by someone who has watched too much Battlestar Galactica. |

In black on the 19" wheels it looks great - distinctive and modern but all personal opinion I suppose. I just found the driving experience less intimate than the old car. Power is smoother but doesn't feel as quick in the high revs. Gearbox faultless though. Has anyone driven an R26 Megane Renaultsport 230? I quite fancy one with the limited slip diff...What are they like to own/drive? I understand they're very raw... |

I got bored on the Honda page while spec'ing a Type R and checked all the additional extras boxes. The bill was over £28K.... Ok, that included all the child seats, ski rack, top boxes.... ....and they want £130 just to put 'Type R' badges on the thing!! |

I quite like the styling on the new civic, and the type R is stunning. OK, it is not as raw as the out going model, but it does seem better on the whole.

If it was a type R, surely it should already come with the type R badges. May be Honda have been taking pricing lessons from BMW. |

Go and spec it.... "Type R emblem and stickers. 1 front grille emblem plus two side stickers. £130." |

Actually, you get a brake pedal with brains. Apparently their EBD system automatically adjusts the brakes according to the load. So basically they've got an intelligent brake balance controller..... |

Do they charge extra for car keys? |

But I thought BMW and Merc charged to take them OFF....? Maybe they could come to an arrangement. Honda could buy their badging department so that BMW didn't need to debadge their cars to spare the blushes of those who can't afford the biggest engine in the series, and Honda could then fit Type R badges as standard for those who want their Type R to be properly branded - ie what else do you buy an R for??? |

It's a no cost option to remove the identification badges on a BMW. My mum opted out of the "335i" badges on her new car to surprise the boy racers ;-) I like the discrete option. My Type-R doesn't have the big Manga-style stickers on the side valances, looks much cleaner as a result. No one driven the Megane 230 R26 though? |
