I like Kerri's car. I wouldn't mind being seen in that. But, I like my unmodified car better.

Thanks Flood I like your car too I know that driving a modified car I will always have to put up with a certain amount of negative comments. But I don't like being called a chav but seen as people don't seem to mind calling me a chav then I don't mind calling certain people snobbish wankers. It's all fair!

Being American, I didn't know what a chav was. I had to refer to a slang dictionary. People in the US who drive mod cars are not seen that way. |

Have you got a front view? It's the ones that have ridiculously huge rear spoilers which annoy me. Because the said car will never go fast enough to generate downforce! |

Get a grip for FS, how many modified cars have had a proper job done to them? The majority are shit boxes on wheels driven around rough estates by the less desirable. The fact you are not in that catagory does not deflect from the fact a substantial amount of those drivers are. Snobs are only the people who are blind to all they see. A car which as been modified with style, elegance and proper workmanship is not in the catagory i speak of, BUT they are as rare as rocking horse......., and should have a catagory of their own which does not relate to the trash such as this prime example of chichi chav. ![]() link |

you hit the nail on the head. If a decent job is done in moding a car, then there is no reason to ridicule it. Not all these cars are my kind of taste, but at least they are safe and road worthy. The issue is these prats that go drag racing on industrial estates in SRIs that are held together with blu-tac or disturb the peace in housing estates with their boom boom stereos at midnight or gather outside McD's on sunday afternoons to rev their engines. These people think motorpsort goes no further that the fabled "Traffic Light GP". My only problem with propperly modified cars is that they are very expensive to modifiy right. Most people can't afford to do that and end up going down the cheap, corner cutting chav route to modding because they see a picture of a good modified car in Max Power. |

so we all agree , a modified car done tastefully, and well executed can be a great reinterpretation of a standard car, but unfortunately the percentage of modified cars that fall within this catagory is woefully small...upon my return to blighty i am hoping to buy a citroen saxo vtr, which by all accounts is a bit of a boy-racer car. my thinking, long term, is maybe to build this as a track car... http://www.zcars.org.uk/saxo/index.htm seriously. |

Not too keen on saxos, The attact attention from annoying boy races that know nothing about performance cars and think their clapped out nova SRIs are fast. |

yeah, that's kinda my worry too, i'm hoping that the devonshire countryside where i'll be living will be relatively chav free, so i can go enjoy the backroads in peace. |

Hmmm... 400bhp for 140mph? Seems a little weak to me! I can get 140mph from 60bhp. Admittedly with rather a lot less weight, but even a 400bhp car ought to do more than that, by quite a way! My friend's Supra was 325 ish and that did over 160 without any fuss.... |

Lets put it one way, an astra VXR has 240 BHP and has a top speed of 155 MPH, so 400 BHP for 140 MPH must be with very short gearing. |
