sweet ride, very envious. in sao paulo i'm running an alfa romeo 145 cloverleaf, 10 years old but still fun, no photos. my other ride is this beetle, a '54, 1200cc and 30hp, i've seen 55mph and things got scary so backed off ! ![]() and this is my track car, bmw 325i, that's not actually seen a track in a coupe of years, it's with the folks at the moment awaiting my return to the uk and the funding for a rebuild... give me a year !

I managed to max out a Focus RS at 144mph (i'm not saying where though) My own car will easily make 130mph I'm also ashamed to say i've been done for speeding twice! |

splendid, it's good to see it's not just the boys that participate in this lunacy. my wife once let me chase an annoying scooby driver to put him in his place, but these days anything over 140kmh and she grips the seat, over 145 and it's my neck !

when i got my scooby it took precisely 4 months to get an instant ban for 84mph in a 40mph. it looked like a dual carriageway to me, but then that's probably why they put a camera there. <thumbs> in court i apologised profusely said it was a moment of stupidity and would never do it again. i didn't say that i was racing a mercedes at the time on the way to a kart meeting... i think the ban might have been a little longer. stupid? yes. do it again? no.

In all honestly, the thing was so monstrously quick I was too busy making sure I didn't fall off!! The bike was also a streetfighter conversion, and the only thing I had hold on to was my friend's waist! Fortunately as he was both taller and wider than me, and Blackbirds have relatively little difference in height between rider and pillion, so all I had to contend with was the acceleration and braking forces - and there was a lot of both I got off the bike after about 40 mins and could barely lift my arms above my waist!!I'd hate to ride pillion on my bike, the pillion pad is so much higher than the rider. However, the management doesn't complain about being up there, though I 'm naturally far more sensible when I have a passenger. Especially when it's the person who usually has dinner ready for me! roflmao |

I don't ride anymore, and have become a lot more geriatric and conservative in my old age... Mr S is allowed to go up to 180 kph occasionally on the autobahn (our insurance won't cover us beyond that), if the driving conditions are safe, otherwise I start commenting once he goes 10kph over the speed limit, as our budget doesn't stretch to numerous speeding fines at the moment, and he has already been caught once since arriving here (as foreigners we can't get driver demerit points, but have to pay an monetary fine for any driving offence)

I've managed an indicated 140mph in my chipped Megane DCI at 4am on the M1. I was a little scary because the megane's suspension is a tad on the soft side and it tends to bounce over bumps in the road. I wouldn't do this kind of thing in the middle of the day |

Majestic Quickest I have driven on public roads was Clio 172. Apparently I would have been at abolut 143 mph even thought the needle was on 160 The fastest I have ever drivin was at Snetterton. Though my average speed was faster in the F355 I got to thrap on the back straight in a Viper GTS I was good for 153 mph.... The subsiquant break fade and off was pretty terrifying though Being a family man now I rarely drive over 85 mph on motorways (conditions permiting), but I do get the vent my need for speed at various track days in my trusty and splendid 306 Gti-6
