"BBC.CO.UK"

US comedian Eddie Griffin has wrecked a rare Ferrari worth $1.5m (£760,000) that belonged to the producer of his new film - and escaped unscathed.
He was practising for a charity race to promote his forthcoming film Redline when he smashed into a concrete barrier just outside Los Angeles.

The film's publicist Wendy Zocks said Griffin was "completely unscratched" but a "little shaken".

Owner Daniel Sadek admitted he had "mixed feelings" about the crash.

"I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash OK but my dream car got destroyed," he said.

"I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, there's people dying every day. A lot of worse things are happening in the world."

Only 349 Ferrari Enzos have ever been produced, all between 2002 and 2004.

Griffin has appeared in a number of comedies including Undercover Brother, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and its sequel Date Movie.

They'll fix that, the Enzos are seemingly quite robust under the bodywork. Ferrari offered to fix that one that got split in half in Miami (?) for half a million dollars. The chassis is built like an F1 car - the engine actually forms part of it from what I've seen, so you'll probably find fixing this one is a case of junking the front half of the chassis, front suspension and bodywork and doing an Airfix job on it....

Of course, had he jumped off the brakes and given it a massive kick up the bum, he might have got away with it....

That was the one I was referring to. It was in Miami, I thinnk, where some Swedish game company owner was racing an SL55 AMG, and crashed at 150mph, cutting the car in half against a telegraph pole. The entire engine and gearbox/rear suspension assembly broke away from the car as it was designed to do. On seeing the news report, Ferrari said they'd fix it for half a million dollars.

Quote:

Swedish former videogame executive appeared in a LA court yesterday charged with grand theft auto and embezzlement after stealing a rare $1 million dollar Ferrari Enzo that was later written of in a high-speed car crash.

According to the Australian News site, Stefan Eriksson, 44, stole two of the coveted Ferrari Enzos and a Mercedes Benz from a British car-leasing company before shipping them off to the US, breaking the terms of his car leasing arrangement which stated that the cars should remain in the UK. The cars were reported as stolen when Mr Eriksson stopped paying the lease on the vehicles. His lawyers admit that he had fallen behind on the payments, but deny that he had stolen the car.

Mr Eriksson was arrested after he wrote off one of the Ferrari Enzos in a 260kmph crash near Malibu in February of this year. He was found to be over the blood-alcohol limit and pleaded no contest to charges last week that he was driving under the influence. He is also facing gun charges after a firearm was found at his home when it was raided in April.

Check the other link. He was travelling at 260kmph

That one looks like a fake Enzo, see the wheels for starters and then as you start to look at other parts of the body work it doesnt look right.
Apologies if am mistaken.
