Its 13 years since Lancia stopped trading in the UK, they are set to make a return. Though a popular shape with what for the time was good performance and handling, the rust and reliability let them down.................thats all been fixed and Lancia are reintroducing the brand.
I think they might pull this one off. Skoda was a really bad car and yet now new drivers dont know what us late 80's lads are talking about.
Lancia had the appeal but the build quality let it down, as Clarkson would say "like dating a good looking tart. You dont think with your head" <doh>

I think your photos are the wrong was around <doh> <edit> corrected now <thumbs> </edit>

I don't like them changing the badge... bad move IMO

They are a spent force even in Italy... traditionally more upmarket and sporty than FIAT their absence from the UK allowed Alfa Romeo to fill that slot...

I'd be surprised if it works... Lancia back in the UK I mean

Lancias are just re-badged Fiats now, there's nothing exciting about their line up.

Which is why they will only get anywhere if they release a completely bonkers hot hatch (the first of the hot hatches?) i.e. the Integrale. or a mad Supercar like the Stratos.

I want to see a new Ferrari-engined saloon, a new 037 and a new sportscar project to carry on from the LC1 and LC2! I fear I may be disappointed though...

A REAL FERRARI ENGINE FOR PEANUTS

Quote:

Thema 8.32
The ultimate Thema, the 8.32, used a 3.0 L Ferrari Dino V8. This engine was based on that of the Ferrari 308 qv with some being assembled by Ducati from castings made at Maranello and featured a traditional V8 split-plane crankshaft rather than the flat-plane used in Ferrari cars. It produced 215 bhp (160 kW) and was capable of 149 mph (240 km/h) in its Series 1 incarnation. The Series 2 engine was slightly detuned to 205 bhp (153 kW) and was slighty slower.

The car offered good performance (though the Turbo version was quicker than the Series 2 from 0 to 100 km/h) and excellent refinement, including a luxurious wood-and-leather interior by Poltrona Frau complete with the same luxury equipment as LX versions of the model. Unfortunately, a price tag of £40,000 (or more) in Britain, and the fact that only left hand drive versions were produced, limited its appeal, with only 9 being officially sold there. It was even a rare sight on Italian roads, with just 3,537 built between 1986 and 1991.
