ok, so car 15 is a Peugeot 206 GTi - Driver; Isla Cox.
Car 16, is an identical (down to colour, bar the bumpers) 206 GTi - Driver; Isla's Husband, Brian.

She was Lapping him in practice, left him well behind in the race. so the next day they swapped cars.

Guess what, she did it again(!)

Combe regulars, not sure if they're back this year though <think>

Those cars had a bit of a reputation for breaking down. only ever seen them at Pembrey once. Nice looking though.

Took each other off at Quarry, one meeting last year <blink>

I'm in two minds over that.

What are those things on the front wings?

I've just taken it down because when I posted it on HPL it got some very negative comments from a couple of people who post here <no>
And I can't be bothered to listen to them again when they see it! <blink>

Actually I was on about the things above the side indicators, just behind the wheelarch.

Getting back to the original post.

Those of you in GB will have heard of the Institute of Advanced Motorists. Anyone who is a member of the IAM is considered a safe driver, on account of they have been trained and tested by very highly qualified instructors and examiners (the examiners are usually Police Class 1 drivers).

I attempted the course some years ago and my driving improved 100% because of the more in-depth knowledge I learned.

There are good and bad drivers and to be honest, I don't think it matters whether you are male, female or indifferent. The worst drivers I have seen of late though seem to be young males with modded cars, driving at speeds well in excess of the speed limit in town, minus seat belts, and usually on the phone at the same time.

It makes you wonder how they pass the test! It's the same at our 6th form, I always hear people boasting about how they reached 70mph on the stretch of road outside the college. My only surprise is that their cars haven't been seen snagged against a lamp-post yet.

One thing that pees me off is these 'women only' insurance companies. One day I'm going to ask them for a quote, and when they refuse because I'm male, threaten to sue them for sex discrimination....

absurdly, positive discrimination is okay i gather, which is nuts .....i thought discrimination was a negative thing, surely the other is favouritism.

I do agree with the sentiments Norbs'

And i think i am a safer driver than my wife in many ways, albeit slower but she says she's a better driver.... <shutup>

It works the same with ethnics too!

Surely positive discrimination is an oxymoron!

For instance:-

Where I work, from the systems dept. an Indian (Asian not American) guy was made up to a supervisor.

In the 6 month he has held this position he has hired 7 people, all of them Indian - in an area of the world where we have VERY few Indians.

Positive discrimination or just prejudice?

Okay, a slight digression, but just agreeing with the pie man.
