So you are saying... 20% British owned is enough to be classed as a British Car Industry but 100% owned (ala Morgan) but selling 3,000 fewer cars a year is not... fine... just so I know. <thumbs> |

jolly good. thing is though it's all in the name. Aston Martin is known around the world in the same way as Ferrari is. Morgan... probably not as well known. |

Well I have a thing for BMW... but should I ever be in a position to be able to buy one... I would have an Aston (after I got my Z8 first) The problem would be which one.... The NR24 I guess would do nicely

Well despite all the "have a go at the Ford ownership" opinions. Aston Martin is currently healthier then it ever has been under Ford's stewardship. I doubt there's many companies that could proclaim to have such a desirable line up of vehicles at the moment. The whole reason behind Ford's decision to sell Aston when everyone thought they were going to offload Jaguar (in a whole heap of trouble) was purely because it is a success and it's much easier to sell and get a good price for a successful business than one that is on life support so to speak. I hope Astons good fortune continues but the consortium is by no means getting a manufacturer that needs major work to turn it around. |
