It is displayed as a concept but the towing eye covers indicate this is a road ready car.... It follows recent BMW launches like the M3 CSL, M5 and the Z4M Coupé where they where displayed as 'Road legal Concepts' just weeks before full Launch... |

i know chris bangle's been bashed for a few year's now, and maybe one of his underlings can claim responsibility, but am i the only person that thinks the front of that car has been seriously beaten around with the ugly stick ?? i am sure the dynamics of the car will be legendary, but i'll take an old E46 and a Porsche 993 instead ! |

john, maybe you'll like my car... a track day 325i. this photo at castle combe is from 2004. unfortunately since last year it has been stuck in a barn in france waiting for my return from brazil. it has all the right bits, full welded in cage, sparco seats, compomotives with dunlop formula r's, adjustable konis and eibach bits, gutted interior got us over a 100kg saving, and while we kept the engine standard for reliability (filter aside), the baffles in the exhaust have blown and it makes a great noise ! i'm the goon with the dodgy beard...

cheers, it is a perfect track tool. i tried to match the orange to an early mclaren, the lid has two stripes running over it, all very retro. the nascar'ed rolls is a bench racing idea cooked up with my brother - 7 litre side oiler and cage ? why not !

My dad has an E46 M3 so I'm interested by this. He has a 335i Touring on order for my mother and says the driving experience of the new model is a significant improvement over the E46. On top of that he's had reliability issues with both the M3 and my mum's current stead - an E46 330i Touring so I hope those are now resolved. The M3 is awesome fun though, very very tail-happy though. That straight-6 sounds like a Jag D-Type at full chat...amazing! Personally I'd get a Skoda Fabia vRS for everyday and a Noble M12 GTO 3-R for play if it was my £50k but I'm young and foolish! If you're at all interested I will advise you guys of what the new M3's like as I'm sure the old man will have a drive once it's out. Speaking of which I have test drives booked in a new Civic Type-R and a Lotus Elise Sport 135 in the coming weeks as I assess my next motor so I'll post some thoughts up shortly. I'm hoping to grab a blast in an S2000 as well as a nice middle ground between the two cars... |
