He does have a point though. It's a new challenge, after 2 championships at Renault he probably needed that. Remember, Schumacher did do the same in 1996...

I think after 5 years at Renault (4 as a race driver and one as a test driver) I think he needed a fresh challenge like Schumacher did in 1996 otherwise he would have went the way of Mika Haikkinen and went stale and lost motivation

a fresh challenge like Schumacher did in 1996....

The time was right to move on... and it came a no surprise when he did...

but his move is not quite the 'leap in the dark' the Schumacher made.... <think>
