Its a bit obvious on the honda current pace hes not going to be wdc this year.
I dont know where he could go, replace fisi maybe. Ferrari and mclaren look to be set with their drivers.
Maybe honda will come good.

Everythinggoes...what's so funny.

You might want to question Franks loyalty to Jenson, after all Ron has nurtured Lewis yet all Frank did was ditch JB over Ralph and JPM, love them or not they were both hugely overpaid overhyped and under performed.

When Frank ran out of options after keeping JB dangling through the pathetic Benneton years he now comes crawling back.

I think in recent years several drivers could have become WDC if they'd been in the right place or had more support. DC, Kimi (still has a chance) and certainly JB has the chance in the right place too.

DC you ask. Let down by reliability so many times after plonking it on Pole. Don't say you don't remember Ron's brain fade comment?

I think Honda will come good eventually, its just a case of being patient. I don't think there are any other decent teams that JB can go to at the minute anyway.

When renault won their first GP in 2003 it took them 2 years till 2005 until they were challenging for the title, could be the same for Honda. There have been alot of changes at Honda in recent years including Honda completely taking over the team and success doesn't come straight away. Again with the renault example, they took over Bennetton in 2002 and won the title in their 4th year and doing it that quickly is actually pretty impressive.

The main thing for Honda this year is to make progress and be more consistent and avoid having to spend the whole season fixing problems rather than developing as was the problem in 05 and 06. Honda have shown that they can develop a car quickly like in the second half of 06.

So to cut a long story short, JB should stay put. <yes>

TCG, in the context of the whole brouhaha about Jenson signing for Williams, then wanting to get out of it, I thought it was funny. Anyway, I'm sure Frank Williams still feels the same way about it.
I'm surprised you got worked up over a comment so obviously made in jest.
BTW, I don't disagree with what you said at all. I do suspect that you thought I aimed the laughter at Williams rather than Jenson.
Now I'm all confused <blink>

why would you replace fisi with a driver you know isnt as good as fisi? <think>

Although I like Frank Williams, he stomped all over Hill and Mansell when they won their WDC’s, and can hardly complain about loyalty.

Please tell me you are not serious....I know Fisi beat him at Benetton, but that was Button's second year in F1. I suspect he has improved since then.

Button was very raw and immature as a driver back in those days. Remember that many great champions took a few year to find their feet in F1.
I am sure that Button would consistently beat Fisi if they were in the same team right now.
I suspect that Renaults time as the champs and now been and gone, and Button would do better to stay where he is, or replace Massa at Ferrari.

And Prost and Villeneuve didn't return the year after their WDCs.....

You make a fair point Rob, but Fisi didnt just beat Button he destroyed him. 13-4 in qualifying, also Fisi scored a podium beating Mclaren, ferrari, jordan etc...while Button tamely spun off while nowhere near the points. I think now Button is much better and Fisi is worse so Button would probably win now as i feel Fisi peaked 3 or 4 years ago.

I dont know where JB would go as someone suggested maybe Renault but Flavio has never seemed to have shown much interest. BMW could be a very good seat to be in in future years he should maybe target Heidfelds place although he still has 2 years left on his contract.

Considering Frank has never had a driver win more than 1 WDC with his team, I think it is fair to say he does not have the best rep for being a driver's guy.

Not trying to bash Frank, just saying he has not been Mr. I'm Friendly To My Drivers.

frank and patrick head had (have?) a policy of not paying up for a championship winning driver. certainly hill and jacques were guilty of demanding more cash because of their improved resume, and frank would have none of it.
