"I think that Williams are going to be bouncing back because they follow a pattern of boom and bust," the 1996 world champion, winner of 21 races with the British team, told reporters on Tuesday.

For a moment I thought Hill (the bookies) had some inside information....

I guess not..... <think>

I do however think Williams will improve on 8th place and 11 points in the standings from last year...

If that is considered to be a Williams comeback.... they I agree with Damon...

If he implies they will be top 3 in 2007.... then I would disagree.

What sort of comeback.
It cant really get any worse than last year.
I can see them improving, not that much, may be 5th in the constructors is achievable.

I think William's main target this season is finishing above Toyota who have the same engine and after the way testing has went it's achievable. But whether it's the start of a return to the top I'm not sure as all the top teams at the minute have far more money and resources than Williams

If Williams do beat toyota, maybe toyota will throw in the towel, sell their spot to someone else and back williams in the same vein as McLaren/Mercedes and in the same way that BMW should have done.

Williams are definitely going to bounce back strong this year I feel, the car is looking good and they did what I consider to be some very good times at Barcelona. In fact they could well challenge BMW for the title of surprise of the season.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Williams beat both their engine supplier toyota and their old engine supplier BMW.

It would be almost impossible for a team with the experience and skill of Williams not to do better than it did in 2006...

Where as.... because BMW exceeded it's 2006 targets... they are starting 2007 higher than expected and while going from 8th to 5th is an easy achievment for Williams .... going from 5th to 3rd will require a greater effort...

So regardless of where Williams come in 2007.... as long as BMW achieve, or exceed, their own targets this season... I shall be happy.

Frank and Patrick would never allow it. When BMW offered themselves as more than an engine supplier (specifically, to help with chassis design), Williams refused. That was what caused the rift between them.

It's a sad fact that the age of the privateer is over in F1: I think Williams should do better than eighth this year, but only by capitalising on Red Bull and Toyota rapidly sliding down the field. Unless they change their management philosophy, they cannot expect to compete at the highest level.
