If Ferrari have front running pace all season and Massa can stay on terms with Kimi might MS sit back at home and think that he could have won another title and wondered what if? I am still pretty sure that MS retired because he was worried about losing out to Kimi and therefore leaving the sport with people knowing that Kimi had the better of him, I can't say I blame him for that either, in his position I would have done the same. However with Massa looking more likely to challenge Kimi will MS feel that Kimi shouldn't have been a reason for him to retire, I am sure that Michael probably would have been able to really unsettle him as his prescence as an on looker already seems to be. But you never know, he might make a big comeback in a season's time, I am certainly not going to rule it out. You would be a fool if you did. |

Knowing Michael, he'll make a Lauda type comeback. |

I dunno, everyone thought Hakkinen would be back after a year, and he never was. Might as well go out on or near the top, after all. Look at Richard Petty, one of the all-time NASCAR greats who just couldn't stop, he ended up going for something like 10 years without a win. He probably enjoyed every minute, but I bet most people wondered why a driver as sucessful bothered tootling around like a grandad for all those years, hardly a fitting end to such a good career! |

The one reason why I doubt Michael will make a comeback is because he has never come across to me as an indecisive sort of guy. He might have stray wistful thoughts, the-what-if-I-was-still-driving kind, once in a while. But not of regret at his decision to retire. Have you ever seen him regret anything ;-) |

How do you figure? I think you would be hard pressed to prove he was past his sell by date in 2000. |

MS left on an high, his only regret was that his car let him down in his last two races. Had the car not let him down, he most likely would have been 8 times WDC. BUT THATS RACING, now let the young guns feel the pressure of having to deliver each and every race with the whole world on your back ready to call you past it and ignoring the fact you had a crushing victory only two weeks before. He can sit back, count his cash and finally rest on his laurels appreciating each and every winning trophey he got. |

he only 'regrets' what he got caught at! Which suggests he only regrets them because he got caught, and not that they were filthy scumbag things to do!

I was in France at Xmas and TF1 showed highlights of the Monaco award gala thingy and michael said then that the biggest regret of his career was Jerez 97. I can personnally forgive him for adelaide 94, he was young then and cracked under pressure and the moment and got it all wrong, if Hill had got past it was game over,it was a last ditch attempt to save his championship,I don't believe he ment to be pushed into a barrel role. |

I don't see why he would have any regrets about 94. Did Senna or Prost ever regret taking each other out? Did Piquet ever regret being an ass? F1 drivers are very selfish, and as such they generally won't regret actions that get them what they want. This is nothing to do w/ liking Shumi, Senna. Prost, or anyone, just a comment on human behavior. |

You’ve compared the Senna/Prost this to Schu’s disgusting behavior before and they are not the same at all. Like the other bloke said….it was 7 years too late for me. |

DC19 you would not have said that had it been David Coulthard he deliberately punted out and not Damon Hill. |
