Lately there has been alot of people who seem to now dislike Kimi or who are constantly having a snipe at him, whether it be board users, people in the media or ex drivers, team bosses etc. Is this due to the fact that he has now a Ferrari driver and has replaced Michael's role as a hate figure to those that don't support him and simply don't want him to win or is it that he has been overrated for a long time and he isn't the driver that people thought he was. Or are people getting extremely bored of him as a person. To be honest I won't be able to support Kimi anymore like I did when he was at mclaren but I think the level of criticism and bashing he has been receiving lately is insane, he is the quickest driver in F1(over a few laps anyway) at the moment and can win if he gets a fast reliable car and doesn't make too many mistakes. And along with the increase of Kimi bashers has been the raise of people worshipping Massa like he is a God. If Kimi can return to his 05 and 03 speed then I can't see even an improved Massa being able to challenge him unless his car is more reliable. It would be a huge upturn and an upset of the odds if it were to happen. |

more Ferrari bashing methinks. I guess we are used to this now but our drivers have the knowledge that they will be the most revered drivers in F1 and that the Tifosi will love them come rain or shine. |

i also find it incredible, i can't see what the guy has done wrong, he has phenominal speed, made his teammates look mediocre, doesn't brag or show off. fine, he isn't the best in front of the cameras, but at least he doesn't talk crap or sound arrogant. i am very confident he will put massa in his place and people can get over themselves and start enjoying a terrific scrap for the championship between kimi and alonso. it's hard to know what people want from an f1 driver if it isn't what kimi has. |

I really hope Kimi proves me wrong but i do NOT think he is the fastest driver in F1 at all. Personally Alonso is the fastest driver in F1 but this is my personal view without having a go at Kimi. The Ferrari's are going to be the car to beat in 2007 and i feel only Alonso will challenge them because of his skill and race craft. I really am looking forward to the 2007 season even tho M Schumacher will not be there but its Massa who i feel will be the biggest headache to Kimi |

The increase in Kimi - bashing is directly related to his now being a Ferrari driver. Must be because reg is more visible than grey

I think that in actual fact, Alonso has proved himself to be the most reliable driver currently in F1. He has won his WDC over the past couple of years by being fast, yes, but mostly by being reliably fast - not the fastEST. Kimi, I feel, has demonstrated that he has what it takes to be the fastEST but not what it takes to be reliable - whether that's his fault or his recent machinery is un-knowable. So basically, I think that Kimi is probably fundamentally faster, but Alonso will be more successful since the rules now favour reliability over outright speed. |

Why not? Just because he moved to a different team, you suddenly don't like someone that you imply to have previously followed? That sounds rather sad to me! I've never been a particular fan (or hater) of Kimi, however, I am very muich a Ferrari fan. Will Kimi being in a red car make me change my mind on my opinions of his car breaking driving style or lack of enthusiasm for testing and development? No. He'll still be the same suicide-inducingly monotonous person during interviews as well, I suspect. I can't stand Rond Dennis or Flabio Briatore, but would I suddenly have hated Schumacher had he gone to either instead of retiring? No. Would I suddenly hate Ferrari if they beat him after such a move? Nope. Would I suddenly think the sun shone out of Flabio's backside if he signed MS? Nope. Why let a change of team or driver change your viewpoint on the other? A change of scene doesn't them a different entity, just one in different surroundings! |

So you think that Alonso is like a Prost and Kimi is more a Senna type of driver? Maybe with more experience over the last few years Kimi may learn to know when to push hard and when not too push but i hope we do see Kimi give the performance he is known for in the past |

A bit like Rosberg. He won his WDC with a single (?) win and a load of points scores in a non turbo car while the turbo was in it's infancy, and they either tore up the opposition or exploded in style...! Also, didn't Bpbby Rahal once win the IndyCar title without a single victory? They called him 'Mr Consistancy'..... As a certain quizshow host would say... points win prizes! |

I still like Kimi and will still be great entertainment value on the track but I support Mclaren, not Ferrari, so I will always prefer Alonso or Hamilton to finish in front of Kimi and Massa next year. |

Also, my main driver is DC who I will always support whatever he does, Kimi is just one of the other drivers that I like and enjoy watching and supported heavily whilst he was at Macca. |

This, i think, is the cast. While Kimi can push the car faster than Alonso, i think that Kimi also hurts the machienery alot more than Alonso. Quicker maybe, but not as reliable. |

Spot on! Totally agree with you. IMO Kimi will usually be quicker over several laps, but Alonso (much like Shumi) just finds way to win. |

I really like that analogy - yes that's exactly how I see it. I was always a Schumi fan right back from when he started and I couldn't understand why people said that F1 got boring because he won all the time, but now I see Alonso, and I can't think of anything more boring than him winning all the time ... just shows how hypocritical i am. |
