Do you agree with him? I have to say as things look I have to agree with him, the only team who look to be challenging them seem to be BMW but I get the feeling they will be too unreliable to mount challenge and in only their second year you wouldn't expect a title charge anyway. Renault and Honda need to either be sandbagging or a have a huge sudden upturn to be challenging the top 2 I reckon but you never know, both teams have looked slightly better recently, often in the last or two you get a sudden surprise like Ferrari's last private in 2004 when it became clear that they were alot faster than the rest. I certainly can't see anyone else apart from Kimi or FA winning the title in my opinion, you could argue Massa could win it but I have a feeling Kimi will finely pull through. |

intersting comment he makes "the car is definitely better than last year's". don't suppose this'll stop anyone from continuing to claim that alonso is the second coming and kimi is a bag of poo... i will have to store this nugget away somewhere ! oh, and i tend to agree with him based on what we've seen from winter testing. oh god i can't wait !!

Well we have rubbished testing and conclusions from testing now for weeks…but now we are saying that McLaren and Ferrari are the only two teams that will this season, and the reason…….yeah it’s those testing times! I have no clue what will happen this season, all will be revealed as it progress’s. What I can say is that Hamilton should keep his mouth shut, I would hate to have another Eddie Irvine in the fold, and hate it more so if he is English! I totally understand when a driver pumps up his own team (and so he should) but to this level……no. Lewis, re-arrange this- Mouth your keep shut big |

Well said, Saint. The Ham needs to talk less to the media and just concentrate on his driving - after all, if he has a poor debut season, people will just point to this statement when he tries to blame the car and say, "Ah, but YOU said the car was good!" |

Yup, he could be setting himself up for a big fall. Big words from someone who has driven 0000000.0000000 miles in competitive Formula 1 racing! If he does turn out to be an arrogant a-hole, it’s going to be a field day for the press in 2008 with both him and Piquet Jr. to call upon for quotes! Maybe put them in the same team lol! |

I think the paddock would suffer from the intense mass of bulls**t in such a concentrated area and collapse into a black hole. Which nobody wants. |

The media ask him the questions he gives an honest answer , the mclaren and ferrari are the best cars no doubt about it. Im not really into this "sandbagging" bull because surely at some point throughout winter testing a team will show its true colours and those two teams seem to be the best with BMW just behind.

He did give an honest answer. But, as the Saint points out, that is dangerous ground on which to tread. I prefer the honest answers, but I might not advise anyone in my charge to offer any. |

I'm a bit surprised about what he said, I would have thought he be a bit more savvy than that with the press. As to whether I agree with the Maclaren and Ferrari thing; I'm with The Saint on this....testing shows nothing. I don't know what's going to happen this season, but I know what I want to happen..................................go for it JB. |

I'm all for don't put to much faith in testing, but I'm still not exactly going to dismiss Hamilton's comments either. I think he is right, but maybe for the wrong reasons? <thumbs> Overall, IMO, not a bad comment to make. |

Judging on testing, that sounds about right. BMW's reliability is awful at the moment, and for the last month or so it is Mclaren and Ferrari that have regularly been at the top of the timesheets. He's talking up his team's chances, not his own. Which is good because Button's major problem is believing the hype over him. |

Hamilton has kept reasonably quiet during the testing season, so its good to hear from him. Yes he is correct, it looks like a contest between the ferraris and mclarens. Hes obviously in the mclaren so therefore he's got a chance. If he came out and said he's got no chance of winning then we would all question why hes in that seat. Fair play to him, yes its going to be tough, its also going to be close at the top. I'm not going to discount him, infact in my opinion he will suprise alot of people and will win gp's this year. A good outside bet for the wdc, obviously im a mclaren fan. |
