With NASCAR having decided to stream the first 3 races of the season live on their website, is it about time that Formula 1 caught up with the times and began doing the same on formula1.com? It is well within their capabilities to do it and would be great to have alongside the live timing stream that is already availible |

They would never do that, sadly. Not without a large subscription fee, at least. |

Whats the point of having it streamed on the internet. I rather watch it on the TV, that piece of equipment thats has been in many living rooms for the last 50 years. Maybe a nice idea to stream practise sessions live but I would hardly be fighting my way to a computer to watch them. And if you want to watch highlights we still have it all on youtube. The way to improve the internet coverage of F1 is to improve interactivity, add telemetry of the cars during the race, add more detailed lap charts and things along those lines, those are the sort of things that die-hard fans want to be able to access. Obviously the official F1 site needs a complete overhawl but there are other sites around that are well presented. |

Why? because not everyone has access to a TV when races are on. Plus something like a race archive would be something that no doubt would be used a lot. F1 needs to make better use of its coverage, because right now I would say it is inadequate. |

In the US we get F1 on a buy only outlet SpeedTV. I watch it via satellite. But, there a few races (4 or 5) that are shown on broadcast TV on a delayed basis. I can't see the live feed and I read the results before I see the race. Streaming would help, but I would settle for the other techno stuff suggested. |

I think a race archive with lap charts, telemetry etc. would be a good idea - they have a good start with the Live Timing but we need much, much more - especially since the Live Timing Archive consists of the race results and an abbreviated report of what went on. As to actually streaming images of the race live on the Internet - A1GP do it but it's only available in countries where the races are not broadcast on TV. Since F1 is broadcast all over the world there would be little need for it, and I guess the TV companies would have something to say if their broadcasting rights were being shared with an online stream. |
