I think Monaco is a very good event in the calendar and provides something different, it is a nice tradition to have in the calendar. It punishes drivers for errors, seeing the cars on the tight streets is a novelty and there are often surprise results, changes in the form order and crazy races with lots of safety cars and there can often be an element of chance. Also it is good for live spectators to be able to get so close to the cars and to hear the echo bouncing off the walls. I think it is good to have one race that is completely different from the rest and provides a unique test to the drivers and to the team. I think Monaco should be the only street circuit on the calendar to keep its unique. It will always be an interesting spectacle in my eyes I hope to visit the Monaco GP soon as Monaco is a place that has always interested me so it would be nice to see what it is like. |

Monaco doesn't always provide a great race, but as you say, its a unique challenge. I disagree that it should be the only street race though, as I remember the days of Long Beach and even Detroit, which always provided entertaining races. Would you really prefer Magny Cours or Hungaroring to another street race? |

I like Monaco and I like tracks that are completly the opposite like Monza. I made the 1998 Monaco race and sat at the swimming pool chicane. The closeness to the action really had my heart going. I couldn't appreciate the raw thrusting of the cars around the course when seen on tele. A real drivers test. Any little unforseen drift and you're in the armco. In 2003 I went to Monza. Much different circuit than Monaco and more of a course that tests the car outright pace. Drivers also have a real test as the speeds are out there. I love silverstone and to stand at Copse while they run flat is amazing. I like the approach to the Senna hairpin in Montreal where braking and car control are evident because of the position of the grandstand. I like the variety of tracks in the World Championship, but I prefer the traditional ones best. Sorry, Hermann T. Tracks to me are the tarmac not the VIP boxes. |

I think we need circuits like Monza and Monaco on the calendar. We need a variation of circuits in order to give a good championship as certain teams will be good on the fast power circuits and some teams will be good on thr narrow nimble tracks. Even the likes of NASCAR and IndyCar have now realised that a strong championship cannot be held on the same type of circuits the whole way through. As for Monaco, it provides a unique challenge in modern day F1. Back in the 1980's there was the American circuits along with Monaco that provided no room for error, but now the USGP is held on a permanent circuit it leaves Monaco is a class of it's own. And with the spectacular backdrop to the circuit it shows the glitz and glamour of the sport |

I don't like it. They have made it far too easy. That's why we all knew Schumacher had cheated, you can't make errors at La Rascasse any more. |

The race is often processional, but many F1 races are. I stood on the terrace at the Hotel de Paris and watched the cars fly up the hill toward casino square and the pilots would understeer and drift to the outside line under control, then flick the car into oversteer, point and shoot toward the apex and power away. Hardly boring if you're interested in cars and technology. |

I am interested in cars and technology, but yeah the races often are boring. But thanks for your breakdown on how to drive a Formula 1 car. |

I don't know how to drive an F1 car, but watching it from 20 feet away and listening to the much more experienced gear heads around me helped me to appreciate the things that I'd never seen before. That's what I like about Monaco, the closeness. And even the cars that drove horribly helped me to understand the beauty of those machines that handle well. But, I do also enjoy your sarcasim! |

There's nothing exciting about watching the race on TV. Of course seeing F1 in the flesh would be so much better...but that's beside the point. The races are crap, the track is dull...enough said. |

Well I'd rather watch races at just about any track other than Monaco. That answer your question? There's nothing to look forward to at Monaco, the challenge is no more. That is what made it good before. |

You are right about the changes and I agree that the challenges are not what they once were. I like tv if I have good access to the numbers. In the US we often don't get the numbers that we need to know who's doing what, etc. We just get the mindless comentary. I like the numbers so that I can add perspective to the view. |

No, we've not had until recently DSL service as I live in an out-of-the way place called Maurepas Island (not exactly surrounded by water but by a vast swamp). Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out this season. We've been flying blind. |
