Pat Symonds admits that it is going to be very hard to extract more speed from the technical package and get on terms with the frontrunners before the start of the season. But he says that he thinks that renault are ahead on reliability. http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=38492 He also states that Ferrari and mclaren are currently the teams to beat. http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=38495 |

It will be interesting to see what will happen - for the last two years Renault have started at the front and let the opposition catch up over the season. If they start off on the back foot and have to catch up themselves, it will be intriguing to see how they handle it. I for one am not writing off Renault - they are the world champions, after all! Maybe by the time the European season rolls around they will be up to speed with Ferrari and McLaren (I for one hope so). |

I am. Not because of their cars, but because Hekki is a rookie and Fisi is a never was. |

I think Alonso flattered the Renaults and now that he has gone, there is no one to take his place. I think Fisi or Kovy could win a race or two between them, but I will be most surprised if they have any kind of serious challenge for the WDC or WCC crowns. So I am with Rob on this one, Renault will not be taking any trophies this year other than the ones they get for winning a race. |
