Fisi is another Ralf Schumacher/Riccardo Patrese clone. They spend most of the time trailing in the dust of their teammate, and the suddenly, usually when their contract is up for renewal, they produce a burst of shockingly quick speed, and everyone wonders why they couldn't do that all season! Typically, they're an 'in the mood' driver - ie quick if they can be arsed....

i beg to differ, putting ralf on par with riccardo, at least riccardo has a spectacular flying accident under his belt.

Fisi needs more than a car that will keep pace, he needs one about a second a lap faster.

He may need a car that is a little faster but I think that a whole second is the worst case of exaggeration I have seen, ever, in the whole world.

Give Fizzy a couple of tenths and he'll be there or thereabouts. I don't think it is beyond Renault to do that.

Well he was 2 seconds a lap slower than Alonso at Australia, so the car was capable of beating McLaren, Toyota, and BMW, Fisi just couldn't.

<clap> On the exaggeration comment. Always nice to see good joking in a debate.

Renault without Alonso is like Ferrari without Schu....in steps Button...WDC 2007 wham bam thank you m'am!

Button to Ferrari? That would be kinda cool. <clap>

will never happen though <pissed>

But if it did, we could sit back and watch Saint's head explode. <grrr>

Don't worry Saint. If it does ever happen, I'll buy you a nice Red hat. <cool>

Poor Fizzy has taken a sustained beating over the past couple of days.

I seem to be about the only person defending him which is quite tough and not brilliantly effective.

Especially when the opposition have the facts on their side.

I too remember the moment that Fizzy's pit crew shouted over the radio at him that he couldn't "possibly be two seconds a lap slower than Fernando in the same car".

I admit it - if Fizzy doesn't think he has the support of his team or he doesn't think he can be be competitive he goes all dreamy and drifts off into higher realms. Writing poetry or love sonnets maybe.

He does have the pace when he sets his mind to it and I don't think that every weekend where Fizzy was as quicker or quicker than Fernando was because Fernando had problems.

Fizzy has a great opportunity this year and I am really hoping he can raise his game. I think he can, I think he has the pace, he just needs to feel the team believe in him and perhaps to feel Flav's size 9's occasionally.

At the resart though its easier when a driver in front has little momentum than when you are driving around in his dirty air and his tyres are up to temperature.

And where was Alonso at the restart and where was Fisi?

Are you trying to defend Fisi or just attack Button for the hell of it?

DC202 takes his hate button campaign to a level never seen on any message board.

It's something we should regard as comedic. But DC202 please do not take this as a criticism of you as a person, just a critique of your views of one driver.

No offense intended.

Ok but i was just speaking the truth but hey if you dont like it fair enough. I am a bit harsh on Button and i will try to stop but sometimes fanboys have to be put in their place.
