I have a feeling that Toro Rosso could surprise everyone and produce a chassis that wasn't drawn on a piece of tracing paper at the Red Bull factory. But then again they probably will produce a RB3 clone with a Ferrari sticker on the engine cover instead of Renault

My intuition tells me that the only honest part of Gerhard's statement is this bit:

Quote:

We checked it very carefully before we even went down this road and we got from different sources always a very clear understanding we are inside the rules.

As I said in my post, I have no doubt that it will be legal. Whether it should be legal is another question entirely.

Maybe I am jumping the gun. We will see.

When they say own the rights to the car, does this just mean the monocoque or the car as a whole? I feel the way they can get round it is by possibly putting a different front or rear end on the car but having the same monocoque chassis and engine cover

Well based on the RB3's recent form...only team with anything to worry about is Toro Rosso!

If they are not certain on Speed...who are they waiting for?

That's just what I was thinking. Bourdais is staying in America, Doornbos is going to remain as RBR's test driver and possibly race alongside Boardais in ChampCar also, so who else is in the frame for the drive?

Montiero?

GET A MOVE ON!!!!

Sheesh!

Who cares? They are a bunch of cheaters anyway.

With any luck they won't be allowed to race. I realise that is unlikely as they no doubt spent their budget on clever lawyers instead of car development but if there were any justice in the world that is what would happen.

I will tell you who cares....

Lord Tau thats who....the poor guy is itching to get out fantasy F1 game started!

I think that the rights to the RB3 chassis are owned by the Red Bull parent company, not the Red Bull Racing team, so both teams qualify as having purchased a chassis designed by another company, which is within the rules.

Yeah, Burger's right. It's NOT the same car.

The STR car is a different colour, has different sponsor logos, has an Italian name, and most importantly, somehow will race without drivers <yikes>
