Is it seeing Alonso in a mclaren, Kimi in a Ferrari and a new look front of the grid, 4 brits on the grid!!! seeing if Heikki could become the next Alonso, seeing what F1 is like after MS or the fact that you really have no idea which team is going to be where compared to previous seasons. Whatever it is that is making you really excited about 07 state it in this thread for all to see.

For me it is the prospect of F1 without Michael Schumacher. He has been such a pivotal part of the grid for most of the last 15 years, for a season to begin without him is something we haven't seen in a long time. As I said in another thread, there are a number of drivers clamouring to fill his shoes .... 2007 will be the season when we find out who will make it. |

For me it is the possibility of a close season of racing. No one team or driver dominating. No traffic jams at la rascasse. Not knowing which of two posible drivers will win the race - even before the red lights go out. No more having to look at Schumachers face all bent and smiling. Oh yeah I'm excited! |

Same here. 1999 was the best season ever (while MS wasn't driving) and I fully epxect 2007 to be as good. Plus with all the driver changes that have gone on. Its a season with a lot of question marks. |

Unless I am very much mistaken those shoes were rather rudely torn from his feet a couple of years ago. Michael hobbled about for a year trying to get them back but to no avail. He retired sans shoes. I am pleased that Fernando defeated Michael in the ring rather than claiming a vacant title because now it is Fernando that is the standard bearer and he who the other drivers must seek to emulate. Had Michael managed to retire as World Champion I think the sport would have been damaged slightly. Winning the title this year would have meant less than it will, it would have been won in Michaels absence and then even in his retirement he would have loomed large over the sport. As things stand the baton has passed on to the next generation quite seamlessly and I have hardly noticed that the old campaigner will not be there this year. One other handy thing about Fernando is he has the same ability as Michael to divide people opinions, so the forums are full of excited fans gossiping and chirping about how he is, or is not, as good as Kimi which is great news for Formula 1. I am excited of the promise of the closest season in years, hopefully without any one team dominant and hopefully with some good, close racing! |

Alonso filled his shoes last season, so to speak; last season was possibly the first time Schumacher has ever been beaten to a championship by what was in the end a slower car... I'm looking forward to a close season, good races (well...I can hope) and the long list of new stars to show the older heads why it is time they followed Schumacher's lead roflmao |

The most exciting thing in my opinion is that there is no clear favourite. |

Excellent point. Just looking forward to what is likely to be the best season in ages. Absolutely no one is going in as clear favourite. Even Alonso. I think he did a great thing for the sport by moving. He has it all to do again and will show his worth as a true champion if he succeeds. |
