Only if it gives them more horse power! ;-) Renault will most certainly get podiums and may take a win or two, but in my opinion, that is it. But I have been wrong before. |

Interesting opinion, Saint. Why is that the case? Why don't you expect them to challenge for the title, as they have done for the last two years? As far as I can see, all they have lost is Alonso; I don't think that will be enough to demote them very far. |

I think Renault will suffer more from the loss of Pat Symonds at the head of the team than the loss of Alonso. He helped turn the team into winners and his backward step this season could affect the team badly |

But in losing Alonso, Renault has lost their winner. Alonso knew what it took to win. He had that killer instinct that champions do, Fisi simply does not have it, he was in the same car as Alonso last year, yet was no match. Of the 15 races where Alonso beat Fisi, in all but 3 there was at least one car between the two. So it wasn't a case where the car was only good enough for a 'X' place finish and Alonso was able to pip Fisi, Alonso made the car a better package than Fisi could. Fisi couldn't beat Massa despite having the faster car for the first half of the season, and Massa's inability to do anything in the wet. Renault are out of it for 07. 08 and 09 Hekki might be able to muster a title charge. However, I cannot imagine a rookie fighting for the WDC, if so than F1 has become to easy. |

I was going to say Red Bull - with Newey Chassis and Renault engine. But it looks like the decision to mate the Renault engine with the Newey Chassis was made too late, but the season is long and Webber is determined, even if DC is a useless has-been. BMW are looking good and Williams and Toyota might do well if the Toyota engine delivers. Honda and Ferrari look a bit fragile at the moment, but I reckon it's teething problems. ROLL ON MARCH!!!!! |

all they have lost is Alonso Thats like saying to a porn star, all you have lost is your tadger! Losing Alonso and mass dampers is going to prove too much for them I think. Fisi has not got the 'it' factor and Kovy is still green. So I will stick to what I said mate, but after all Red, it is only my opinion. And opinions are great.....it's just mine are greater! (just a little joke) |

I personally think Renault might do pretty well actually, we all know that Fisichella CAN be great, just maybe not consistant enough. Maybe with the pressure of not being Alonso's whipping boy and the responsibility of being team leader might just spur the guy on?! I not convinced either way but I think the young Finn will be doing wonders come mid season as well! Between them they might just make the French marque hard to beat?! Time will tell. Fingers crossed both drivers have a good season as does the marque. |

I never said they would do badly, i thnk they could win a couple of races and podiums. I have this feeling that we are going to get the best season in over 10 years in 07, and I for one cant wait! |

Hi Speedworx. Williams form has not been a suprise to me. I have said all along that Williams would make dramatic improvement this season. They have undergone a complete restructuring, not replacing the the existing top management tiers but have recruited some of the best engineers and workshop personnel availble. These guys names are never mentioned in the press and they never appear on TV or make press statements. But where it matters, (in the workshop) they really know their stuff, and now we are seeing the results on the track. I fully expect Williams to continue developing their car during the coming season and although I enough of a realist not to make rash predictions regarding the WCC I would not be really suprised if they were in with a shout come the end of the season. |
