Reigning Bathurst champions Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup today gave one hundred die-hard fans an exclusive first look at the most revolutionary race livery in the history of V8 Supercars, as they launched the spectacular new TeamVodafone Ford Falcon BF.

The dynamic new livery, a striking shade of red featuring chrome embellishments, has been eagerly anticipated since the signing of Triple Eight’s three-year multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with Vodafone, announced last October.

In full flight, the TeamVodafone Falcon becomes one with the racetrack, and is sure to create an intense and unique visual experience for fans as the Team and drivers take on circuits across Australia and overseas.

Russell Hewitt, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Australia said the bold new look sets new standards in the sport.

“The powerful race livery combined with a first class driver line-up of three-time Australian Touring Car Champion Craig Lowndes and 2006 Clipsal 500 winner Jamie Whincup, as well as Triple Eight’s world-wide engineering expertise, will ensure TeamVodafone is a front running V8 Supercar Team in 2007.

“TeamVodafone supporters are some of the most passionate sporting fans in Australia and this year they will be able to get closer to the action than ever before,” said Russell.

In a first for V8 Supercars, fans around Australia were able to tune in and stream the car launch live to their mobiles, free on Vodafone live! Mobile TV with 3G – to see Lowndes and Whincup rev up the Ford Falcon for the first time.

Craig Lowndes is fired up for the 2007 season and said the TeamVodafone livery reflected the team’s meticulous preparation and determined approach in order to secure the series crown.

“This is certainly the boldest looking car I have ever driven. It is a new direction in livery design and will look fantastic on the racetrack,” said Lowndes.

“The Team knows what it takes to win races in the V8 Supercar series and we are itching to get underway – both myself and Jamie are fully-prepared to challenge for the driver and teams championships aboard our TeamVodafone Ford Falcons,” he said.

Lowndes will campaign in car #888 alongside Jamie Whincup who is looking to record back-to-back Adelaide wins in his new look #88 Falcon.

I prefer the old paint scheme more. This is pretty dull. I still want Lowndes to win the title.

but I liked the old paint job :(

triple eight used to be good fun (before they got Lowndes and started winning things) I can't remember who the drivers were but a couple of years ago they used to always stick together and cruise around in the middle of the pack
